The interior

The first renovation was the updating of the bathroom. After pulling everything out we found that the floor joists had rotted and so had to redo all of the floor.

Asbestos had to be removed as the tiles were laid onto it.

The cast iron bath had to be cut in half to enable it to be removed - it was very heavy and unwieldy.

A new (lighter and smaller) bath was added under the window, the basin moved to the wall and a new glass shower was put in.

The original kitchen was very small, with narrow benches and the vestiges of an old combustion stove (the hole and the chimney).

This wall was to be removed and the kitchen opened out to the dining room.

This is the kitchen window and the wall of the dining room - french doors are to go in to open it to the back yard.
My inspiration for our kitchen... below is our actual kitchen.

The new french doors and concertina kitchen windows.

The master bedroom had to have the carpet pulled out, the floor sanded and complete repainting.

There had been a big water leek from the hot water cupboard.

 The new walls are yellow.
 Wardrobe by Ikea.
The lounge room needed the carpet ripped up and complete repainting. We also stripped the render from the fireplace.
 The carpet was very dusty...

Once we took off the render the fireplace was quite stylish.

The red feature wall (to pick up the red in the curtains and the red in the kitchen).
